Care for Jaw Muscle Pain

Hot / wet massages on both sides for ten minutes morning, night and one other time during the day. Use wet cloths using hot tap water as hot as you can stand without burning yourself.

Open your mouth against resistance (your fist or open hand) in four directions (opening, forward, left, right) every 1-2 hours for 2 minutes.

Limit opening during yawning to half open. You can measure half open as wide as you can and still be able to touch your palate with your tongue.

Avoid gum and hard to chew foods.

If you have a guard, wear it as instructed.

If medications have been prescribed take them as directed.
